Every day is a gift!
I am so excited! It is Day 1 of the Redeemed Challenge! I hope you are excited too! I decided to hold the challenge this month because my book, You Are Redeemed, turns 1 year old on the 22nd of this month! If you want to join the Redeemed Challenge, then I invite you to grab a copy of my book on Amazon or your favorite online bookstore. Read the corresponding chapter for the day and then touch base with me here.
Today in chapter 1 we talk about how we became a new person when we became Christians. Changing our old habits and mindsets can be difficult. It does take time and practice. When you stumble, don’t let it bring you down. Remember who you are and keep moving forward.
Share in the comments: Is there something from the first chapter of this book that resonates with you?
I have a surprise for you! I decided to also share a song with each post throughout the Redeemed Challenge! I was pondering this for some time. I almost talked myself out of it. Then God gave me a nudge to do it. So check out today’s song!!!!!!! Redeemed by Big Daddy Weave
And a second surprise! Each day I will share an image which contains the “Your Words Have Power” section of the chapter. My hope is that you can use it as your wallpaper on your smartphone for the day. We all look at our phones a lot. So each time you look at your phone, read the message for the day. If you have an iPhone, you can open the blog post in safari and save the image to your photos. Unfortunately, I am not sure how it will work for Android users. So if anyone figures it out, please share!
Only God is able to break the shackles of the old and make us new. Amen.
Looking forward to the reading each day through the month 😊

I wonder if I became new long ago, when I accept Jesus at a young age, but I’ve spent so much time beating myself up, even as I’ve worked to follow Jesus, I’ve failed to see the change He has wrought in me. I am a new person. Thanks for the challenge Bridget.

I know what you mean. It can be difficult to fully accept the grace that has been extended to us. But once we realize how we have been made new, it can be freeing! 💜

“It’s as though we just can’t believe that Jesus really did change us.” This really stood out to me because I had a hard time with this at first. But the more I got to know Him the more I realized how wrong I was. It’s harder sometimes if we can’t see the change in ourselves. But when other people start pointing it out, then you can really see it and believe it.

So true! And part of this has to do with being our own worst critics. Our mistakes seem so glaring to us, which makes it more difficult for us to see our changes. 💜

I a Redeemed!! Big Daddy Weave certainly put it in prospective. I’m a new person. I’m not controlled by people or circumstances. I’m accountable to God. Praise God!!

YES! Just like the caterpillar who turned into a beautiful and vibrant butterfly, we became new creatures, completely transformed. We just have to remember we now have wings and the ability to fly, with God’s strength! 🦋

Thank you this! I downloaded the book on the nook app 😍 anyway, this first chapter is a reminder – even if we know that we’ve been made new, sometimes over time we hold things against ourselves still or keep dwelling on who we were, what we did. Even as mature Christians, we fall into that place and need little reminders that Jesus still loves us and we are made new through Him. Thanks again!

Yes, exactly! It’s tempting to focus on our mistakes or our past. But that is the enemy getting in our head. He doesn’t want us to live in victory. But God says we are a new person and we need to remember that. I’m so glad you downloaded the book and are joining in the journey 💜
