The Redeemed Challenge – Day 13

Good morning! Today is Day 13 of the Redeemed Challenge! In today’s chapter of the book, we see that although at times we might feel like we don’t have much influence on those around us, the truth is that we are the light of the world. If you’re like me, then maybe you’re easily influenced by other people’s moods, words, and actions. This is not a good thing, because it means we are easily brought down. As Christians, we have to be strong and let our light shine in this dark world!

  1. Love today’s devotional. The spirit in us should infuse joy and light into the world around us rather than letting their moods or emotions etc bring us down. To be able to do that always we have to be rooted in Christ.

  2. Already this morning I have gotten emails and texts saying..ooh watch out it’s Friday the 13th. I know they are in jest but it jumped out at me that this is also obviously day 13 of our Redeemed Challenge. The message was strong today..we all have a light to bring forth into the world. The last emailer who wrote me said (in jest)..watch out for weirdos today! I replied (in truth) I am a Christian, they better watch out for me! My light can be very bright! Thank you for this powerful reminder, Bridget! Your light shines in each Redeemed challenge..no matter the number!!!

    • Oh my goodness! I knew it was Friday the 13th. But I didn’t think about in correlation to what we read today! That is amazing! God is so good! He knew last year when I was writing this book that this would be the perfect message for today!! Wow! I am in awe! Thank you for bringing this to light, Lorraine! And I really love your response in your last text! That should be our attitude everyday! I love it! 😍

  3. I never considered being a light a responsibility. I’ve always thought of it as something I want in my life, but it’s so much more. It is a directive. I’m already endeavoring to be a light, but I need to take it more seriously and make a more concerted effort to learn what God wants me to do to be a light in the world.

    • Wow! That’s a great point. Jesus is clearly stating that we should let our light shine. This does bring it to a new level when you see it as a directive. And in my opinion, it adds a bit of motivation and power. Suddenly I feel more capable! Thank you so much for pointing that out! I love it! ❤️

  4. I wish all Christians would see this and let their light shine. The world is such a scary place now but I think if we all stood together we could really make it a better place. 💕

    • Yes! So true! We have more power than we realize. And like you said, if we stood together – wow just think of how powerful we would be! But at least we can start with our own little corners of the world. And hopefully our light will spread to others! 💜
