The Redeemed Challenge – Day 22

Good morning! Today is Day 22 of the Redeemed Challenge! (And it is You Are Redeemed’s first birthday! Insert confetti! 🎉)

Many of us tend to focus on what we perceive as flaws. But in today’s chapter of the book, we read that we were made in God’s own image. Hold onto this truth the next time you are tempted to put yourself down. Most of us have a magnifying glass on each and every one of our own flaws. We put ourselves down and only focus on the things we wish were different. But remember – God created you and He doesn’t make mistakes.

  1. So true that we tend to have a magnifying glass on all our flaws and not think that we are so fearfully and wonderfully made by our God.
We are created and designed with a purpose and with so much love.

Congratulations on the one year of this book 👏🏼🌺

  2. Happy Birthday to
You Are Redeemed! Do you ever wonder just how many people it has touched and has brought Jesus to? Thank you Bridget!!
I need to magnify my strengths instead of beating myself up over my flaws. I am worthy.

    • Since the ebook version of You Are Redeemed is free, it has gotten into the hands of over 6,400 people. That is just astonishing to me!

I know what you mean. I magnify my own flaws as well. But I hope that I can change that, in a way of honoring the Lord! And I hope you can too! You are loved! You are priceless! You are a child of God! You are a blessing! And you are stronger than you realize!

  3. Happy 1st birthday! 😃 I love the song you chose!!! It’s one of my favorites! I think as a woman sometimes it’s hard to see ourselves as flawless. We want that “wordly” body – thin, perfect skin, gorgeous hair. But God made us all different and unique. I have to catch myself sometimes when I’m being down on myself and remember that this is how God made me. I shouldn’t be criticizing His work.

    • Very good point! You are absolutely right! Women do seem to be very hard on themselves. And sadly the world we live in pushes for that perfection. So it can be easy for us to get that in our heads from a young age! But as Christians we know God loves us just as we are. God created us in His own image. And we were fearfully and wonderfully made!! 💜

  4. If I am made in God’s image and He is Love, doesn’t that make me Love? Every day, He gives me the opportunity to be like Him. Do I embrace the opportunity or do I shoot it down? How do I reflect God’s love if I’m focused on my flaws?

    • Ah very good questions to think about!! You are so right though. You have the Love of God inside of you! But we live in a world where the enemy vies for our attention and for our thoughts. Unfortunately he wins far too often. So we need to put on our armor (Ephesians 6:10-20) each and every morning, before we even get out of bed. And then we can be better prepared to turn those thoughts around, and remember that we were made in God’s own image!
