Gratitude Challenge 2023 – Day 1

But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. – Psalm 3:3

Dear Heavenly Father, no matter what is going on in our lives, we are thankful to know that You are the shield around us. You keep our heads lifted high and our hearts full. Thank You, Lord. What a joy it is to have You in our lives. You lift our spirits and bring comfort when the road is rocky. When we walk with You, we never walk alone. We love You. We trust You. And we are thankful for You. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

I am grateful that God is my shield and the One who lifts my head high. I am grateful to be embarking on this gratitude journey with you. And I’m grateful for pretty sunrises and sunsets.

What are you grateful for today?

  1. Love the prayer Bridget and the verse. A wonderful way to start this challenge, reminding ourselves that he is our shield.
I am grateful for my family’s and my health ( was reminded recently that we tend to take it for granted)

    • So thankful to know God is our shield. What comfort that brings! And I agree! Our family and our health are things to be thankful for. You’re right, too often we take things like that for granted.

  2. We’re blessed that we’re never alone because of God’s faithfulness, He’ll never leave us empty no matter what but we must make the choice to lean into Him. ❤️

  4. Amen Bridget. Thank you for the prayer. Earlier today, I was thanking the Lord for the growth I have seen in myself. Of course, I will be learning and growing as long as I am here but still thankful for where I am today, compared to years ago.

    • Amen to that! Each day the Lord is molding us and helping us grow. We have such a caring God! I love that you saw that and thanked God for it. Too often I am hard on myself for not being further along. But you’re right, when we look back to where we used to be, we can see how much He has helped us grow. ♥️♥️
