Gratitude Challenge 2023 – Day 13

Photo taken September 5, 2023

I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.” … Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. – Psalm 16:2,5

Dear God, the words in these verses remind us to keep our focus on You. You are our provider. You help us navigate each hill and valley in our lives. And even when things don’t go well, we can say “it is well” because we know You are in control. You know all the things we will face, and You have a purpose in all of it. Thank You, Heavenly Father. We trust You. In Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.

I am thankful that the Lord is my portion and my cup. I’m thankful that yesterday we had fall weather in my neck of the woods. I’m thankful that I care about my job and the work that I accomplish (even though sometimes this means it becomes stressful). And I’m thankful for my blogger friends who bring encouragement with their posts.

What are you thankful for today?

  1. Love the verse and prayer. He is each and every situation, and he is in control.
I am thankful for how he cares for every little detail of our lives. A friend’s friend who some of us have been praying for had a health scare. Had to get an appointment with the specialist. Had a long waiting list and her situation was meant to be urgent. They had a cancellation and she got in to see the doc. And found out that it was a reaction to something else and nothing sinister.

  2. I am thankful today that, “Every morning His mercies are new.” God is faithful!

I am also grateful that I woke up this morning. I can move all ten fingers and ten toes, and I can walk and talk and serve God at the job He has given me.

  3. The verse reminds me our security is in Jesus. He is our place of safety. I’m thankful that God challenges me to go higher, not only in my spiritual walk but also in my earthly accomplishments and relationships. Through the challenges, I grow closer to Him and stronger in my faith.

  4. The 8-year-old boys from church came and sang a Thanksgiving song and shared pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Sweet and adorable and thoughtful.
