Every day is a gift!
Good morning! Today is Day 20 of the Redeemed Challenge! In today’s chapter of the book, we read about the fact that we are forgiven. This is something that we know is true as Christians. Yet we don’t always allow that truth to sink deep into our hearts. I hope you can hold this truth in your heart today. If you are a Christian, then you are forgiven. Allow this word “forgiven” to release you of whatever regrets you are holding onto. Whatever burdens you are gripping, let them go. Once you do, you will feel a weight lifted off your shoulders. You were never meant to carry those things around. The price has already been paid by the blood of Jesus.

You will need some tissues when you watch this video! Forgiven by Crowder
And here is the smartphone wallpaper image for the day:
I have a hard time letting go. But when I remind myself that that is not what God wants it makes it easier. My sins have already been erased by His grace. I am soo blessed!

It sounds like you are making progress, which is wonderful. This is difficult for many of us. But reminding yourself that you are a new person helps every time. 💜

I struggle with forgiving myself. I think, in large part, it’s a habit. I blame myself when things go wrong because I was always blamed. I need to break the habit. I want to see if I can replace the habit of feeling guilty for everything with praising God for His justice and mercy. I don’t anticipate this will be easy, but I need to start somewhere.

Maybe you can put reminders for yourself, on your computer, on your bathroom mirror, etc. Every step in the right direction is still progress!

Thank you for the tissue warning! 😢 I have always struggled with forgiveness. I was in an abusive relationship many years ago and it is still hard for me to forgive him. I also struggle with forgiving myself. It’s so comforting to know that God forgives me, though.

I can understand completely. But thank God that you are no longer in that relationship. How wonderful that God had something better in store for you! And yes forgiving ourselves is difficult as well. We tend to be our own worst critics. But a lot of that comes from the enemy, who wants us to think badly of ourselves. But God wants us to be free! 💜
