Gratitude Challenge Day 12

Pray: Dear God, there are various things weighing on our minds, today and every day. But instead of worrying, feeling fearful, and complaining, we are choosing to hand our concerns over to You. 1 Peter 5:7 is such a comforting verse, Lord. It reminds us to cast all our anxiety on You because You care for us. Thank You, Father, for this reminder. We cling to this today. And we thank You for caring for us. That statement alone brings us immeasurable peace, to know that the Creator of the universe cares for us. We are so thankful to know that You are there and that You are taking the weight of our anxieties. Reading stories in the Bible, such as the one with Daniel in the lions’ den, brings us comfort. We see that You will work miracles to protect us and rescue us. When we remember this story, it reminds us that we have nothing to worry about. Our amazing Father has our backs, no matter what we are facing. Our awesome God shuts the mouths of lions, parts the water, and protects us in the fires of life. Thank You, God, for Your amazing power and strength! We have nothing to worry about and nothing to fear! Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Practice Gratitude: What are you grateful for today? I am grateful to know that the Lord cares for us. I am grateful to know that God will protect us and rescue us, even by shutting the mouths of lions. And I am grateful to know that our heavenly Father always has our backs.

Praise. Here is today’s song! Enjoy! Famous For by Tauren Wells and Jenn Johnson

  1. What a powerful prayer and song. He makes way through the waters, walks us through the fires and shuts the mouth of lions. Wow!
I am thankful that God is our fortress. He is our refuge and strength.
For the ease with which we can gain access to worship music, different teachings and versions of the word with the advancement of technology.
    Blessings my friend 🤗💙

    • Yes! This song really is powerful! And I love the items you said you were thankful for. Knowing, believing, and trusting that God is our fortress, refuge, and strength truly helps our hearts to have a stronger faith as we face each day. And I agree with what you said about technology and listening to worship music. I don’t always think about the convenience, so thank you for that reminder. Blessings to you too, my friend! ❤️

  2. I love that verse! I have to say it often to myself since anxiety and worry seem to take over whenever they want. What a beautiful song! I’ve never heard that one before. I don’t know how I’ve missed it.

    • “Anxiety and worry seem to take over whenever they want” – that is an accurate way to put it! They sneak in when we aren’t paying attention. I love today’s song. I am glad I could help introduce it to you. I bet you will be listening to it often! ❤️

  3. What a Beautiful view! I love the pictures and songs you’ve selected for this gratitude challenge.

Today I’m grateful for the Daniel’s that are we’re responsible for shaping me into the woman that I am today. I’ll never be able to thank them enough for all they’ve done for me, but they’ve left an indelible mark on me. My Daniel’s are:

    Mom and Daddy
    Susie
    Aunt Jenny
    Mama Sue
    Miss Sarah & Mr. Dudley
    Trice
    D.S. Talley

I praise God for each one of them. In the scheme of this world, they were nobodies, but they were the framers, which the Lord used to build “this house” that I now enjoy 🥰.

  4. This reminds me of a verse we have written down and would speak aloud often, Psalm 112:7 “They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord”. I’m thankful for the reminder today, I’m thankful that fear and worry have no place within us, and I’m thankful for God’s promises.

    • Oh that is a wonderful verse. Thank you for sharing that. And I like how you phrased that – “fear and worry have no place within us.” So true!! It can be easy to forget that at times. I too am thankful for God’s promises, and holding onto them when fear and worry do come knocking. Thanks for commenting! It’s always wonderful to hear from you! ❤️
