Gratitude Challenge Day 17

Pray: Dear Father, today we say a prayer for ourselves and for our loved ones. We ask that You break any chains or bondages in our lives and in the lives of our family and friends. We know Jesus came to set us free, and freedom is available to us. But sometimes there are still things that hold us hostage. There is power in the name of Jesus to break those chains. And today we are thankful that we can find freedom. We also say a prayer for our loved ones who are lost. We have family and friends who do not live their lives for You. We pray for their hearts to be turned towards You. And we pray that we can be a witness to those who need one.

Today we also want to make a point of expressing our thanks. Today we will keep the words “thank you” in our minds and look for opportunities to say them. Lord, we start with You and thank You for Your unfailing love and mercy. We are so grateful for all that You do in our lives. Lord, You are holy, almighty, and glorious. Your glory is overwhelming. When we think about how magnificent You are, it gives us much to be thankful for. God, we also want to look for opportunities to say “thank you” to the people we encounter, as well. We will make a point of tell our loved ones how much they mean to us. We might not say the words “thank you” often enough. But we hope to change that, Lord. We ask for You to gently nudge us when we forget. We ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Practice Gratitude: What are you thankful for today? I am thankful for the power in Jesus’ name. I am thankful that we can express our gratitude to God and to the people in our lives. And I am thankful for our holy, almighty, and glorious God.

Praise. Here is today’s song! Enjoy! Holy is the Lord by Chris Tomlin

  1. I join you in the prayer for our loved ones.
I am thankful that the Lord loves each one of us even those who are yet to accept Him as Lord.
For His love that is unending, everlasting and unconditional.
For the blessing of having a dishwasher. I find it such a convenience ( had to change an old one a couple of month back and I honestly couldn’t wait till it was sorted out).
    Blessings dear friend 💙

    • I too am thankful for the Lord’s love of each of us, even those who have yet to turn to Him. He wants all to be saved!
“For His love that is unending, everlasting and unconditional.” – so beautifully said!
Ironically, I just had to get a new dishwasher. So I agree that they are a blessing!
Blessings to you too, my friend! ❤️

  2. I’m grateful how God uses people to speak words of “thank you” into my heart. I recall having what I called my “cry day” after the worst day I’d experienced in a long time. Things weren’t well with Mom at that time. I had to present at the Finance Committee and Board meeting. After a very contentious Finance Committee meeting, I received an email from Dr. Kaunitz telling me how impressed he was with my professionalism during the difficult presentation, plus I received approval 😁.

God gave me the “pick me up” I needed in that moment. It was truly a God moment! He used my colleague and friend, Dr. Andy Kaunitz, to remind me and speak into my heart 🥰.

  3. Great prayer…. I was just thinking about something that I feel like I’m still held in bondage to — your prayer is so timely… Praying for God‘s freeing and to truly feel it in my heart!
