Every day is a gift!

You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. – Psalm 18:28
Dear Jesus, You are our shining light. The world around us can be so dark. But the light shines in the darkness and the darkness can never extinguish it (John 1:5). We are so thankful for You and the hope You give us. You keep us going every day. Thank You, Jesus. We love You. In Your beautiful name we pray, Amen.
I’m thankful that Jesus is my light. I’m thankful that the darkness can never extinguish the Light.
Over eleven years ago my coworkers and I went through a stressful season as we implemented a new software. This was also around the time when my thirty-four year old friend died of sarcoma. And my grandmother passed away shortly after that. At that time I started using “Every Day is a Gift” in the signature in my email. And that has remained for over a decade. And another saying that I posted on my office wall was, “I woke up, I’m alive, I’m healthy.” This helped keep things in perspective. Little things will try to steal our joy, no matter what season we are in. So today and every day I’m thankful that I woke up, I’m alive, and I’m healthy.
What are you thankful for?
What a reminder to be thankful every day for being alive and healthy.
I am grateful for having a quiet day at home today and a chance to sleep in this morning.

A quiet day and a chance to sleep in are sometimes exactly what our souls need to feel refreshed. ♥️🤗

Everyday is a gift; I feel like death is very good at reminding us of that. Especially the death of close loved ones. I’m enjoying the beautiful pictures in your posts. I’m thankful for the love and support of my daughter.

So true. Death of loved ones does help shift our perspective. I’m so glad you are enjoying the pictures on the posts. Looking at God’s artwork is a reminder that He is mighty and He is always with us. It’s wonderful that you have that close relationship with your daughter. What a blessing when parent / children relationships become friendships too! ♥️

We have so much to be grateful for, yet stress still has a way of discouraging us. Thanks for this wonderful reminder. How is it November 18 already?

So true! May we learn to keep our eyes on the blessings instead of the stress. And yes this month is flying by!

I have also lost loved ones, and it felt like they left too soon. Recently, a co-worker’s best friend passed away at 37. I found an empathy for my colleague that may have been missing, had I not once dealt with such a loss myself. So, I am thankful that grief and loss are not always in vain; sometimes God can use them so we can help others.

A good point. God uses everything for a purpose. What comfort that brings! And how is the colleague who had a mass on their liver?

Thank you for the prayers! 🤍 Things are better than they were. My mother is home from the hospital. But both of my parents are still dealing with health issues.
