Gratitude Challenge Day 3

Pray: Dear Lord, today we come before You with regret for all the complaining we tend to do. We know it grieves You when we gripe. We want to turn our hearts around and make gratitude a lasting habit. The world around us has so much negativity and complaining. But we can spread the light of Jesus by being optimistic and practicing gratitude. When we focus on You, Your goodness, and all the ways You bless us, it helps us to turn our complaints into praises. So, we are starting off today with gratefulness in our hearts. Please help us to hold onto this throughout the day. And as we lay our heads on our pillows tonight, help us to recall all the wonderful things that happened in our day. Help us to drift off to sleep while giving You thanks.

Lord, we also take a moment to pray regarding the elections occurring today in the USA. For those who haven’t voted yet, please give us discernment as we vote today. Please help us to keep in mind truth, which comes from You alone. And no matter what the outcome is, we ask for peace. We place it all in Your hands, because our trust is in You alone. Most of all we pray for this country and for the entire world. God, the world has been through so much heartache this year. Please bring healing to every corner of the earth. We pray that all hearts are turned towards You. Thank You, Father. In Jesus’s name we pray. Amen.

Practice Gratitude: Write down at least three things you are thankful for. Today I am thankful for the gift of practicing gratitude because I have seen in my own life how it can transform our hearts. I am thankful for the opportunity to spread the light and love of Jesus to those I encounter today. And I am thankful for the power of praise.

Praise. Here is today’s song! Enjoy! Counting Every Blessing by Rend Collective

Please share in the comments if today’s reading spoke to you. Or you may add a prayer, your gratitude list, praise, etc.

  1. Amen 🙏🏽. May we turn the ease with which we complain to having praise and thankfulness at the tip of our tongue.
I pray for the election there too. For the Lord’s will to be done and for peace whatever the outcome.
I am thankful for the Lord being with me always, for helping me stay focused on him today even though I had lots to do. And I am thankful for a beautiful spring 🌼 day that we had today.

    • Yes I love the way you put that! “May we turn the ease with which we complain to having praise and thankfulness at the tip of our tongue.” Beautifully said!
I like the items you said you were thankful for. It definitely can be difficult to stay focused on Him when business takes over. So that is a blessing. And funny that I am thankful for the fall weather here! 🍂🍁😉 Buy I am glad you got a taste of spring!
      Blessings my friend! ❤️

  2. I pray for peace during this time, and respect. Respect for one another, even if our opinions are different. Respect within the presidency, no matter who that may be. And that God would ordain their steps and actions. I am thankful for a new day with new opportunities. I am thankful for the change of seasons. I am thankful for my children and grandchildren.

  3. God Bless America! May there be peace and unity among all our people. As the song says…Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me! I am so grateful for my country, the freedom to vote and the privilege to pray!

  4. I love this prayer! I definitely need the Lord to put His hand over my mouth when I start complaining. And I’ve been praying for the election and for peace after the election is over no matter who wins.

Three things I’m thankful for today:
    1. Having a roof over my head
    2. My husband’s job so we can have money to feed the family
    3. Beautiful clear blue skies and nice days

    • I love the way you phrased that: “I definitely need the Lord to put His hand over my mouth when I start complaining.” I agree! This can be so difficult. But we can overcome with the strength of the Holy Spirit and the powerful name of Jesus! ✝️

  5. I’m grateful for inspiring movies like “Facing the Giants” with awesome quotes like “If we win, we praise God. If we lose, we praise God,” and the rain analogy, and the theme song.
