Gratitude Challenge Day 19

Pray: Dear Lord, we have come so far in this gratitude challenge. We have spent the past several weeks focusing on giving thanks. Lord, please help us to continue on this journey. Please help us to keep looking for opportunities to express our thanks to You and to those around us. Please help the words “thank you” to be frequently on our lips. One thing that we have found is that gratitude makes us feel better. So when we feel like we are losing steam, please remind us to keep going.

Lord, we also ask for Your wisdom and discernment in everything that we are facing. Help us to stay in tune with You. Help us to hear Your loving voice above the noise of the world. Help us to remember that we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us, guiding us with any decisions or crossroads in ours lives. It is in Christ alone that we find our hope. He is our light and our strength. We thank You, Jesus, for Your precious blood. We thank You, for being our comforter. We stand in Your love and grace. In Jesus’ most beautiful name we pray, Amen.

Practice Gratitude: What are you thankful for? I am thankful that Jesus is our hope, Jesus is our light, and Jesus is our strength. I am thankful we have the Holy Spirit guiding us, giving us wisdom and discernment. And I am thankful that we can turn our ears to the Lord to hear His loving voice over the noise of the world.

Praise. Here is today’s song! Enjoy! In Christ Alone performed by Lauren Daigle

Please share in the comments if today’s reading spoke to you. Or you may add a prayer, your gratitude list, praise, etc.

  1. A lovely prayer Bridget. I pray too that we hear His voice above the noise of the world.
I am thankful that the spirit is our guide.
    For His patience with me.
For the obedience of friends who listen to His nudges and I am blessed because of it.
    Blessings my friend 💙🤗

  2. Such a beautiful song! And prayers, too!

Today I’m thankful to have such an amazing and understanding God, for dirty dishes, and for laundry (because it means I have a family to feed and clothe).

    • I love your perspective!! Thanks for pointing that out. We should embrace the messy things too because they are the result of other blessings in our lives! Wow. I love that. Thanks for sharing, Michelle. Blessings to you! ❤️❤️

  3. Great song choice! I like that you can find Lauren Daigle’s music on popular secular stations, especially You Say, because it causes the listener to look her up to find out more.

I’m thankful for progress (mostly at home with the new place; it’s been slow going but we’re getting there). I’m thankful for the ability to see a small group of family who are healthy for the holidays. And I’m thankful to be able to decorate and celebrate!

    • Good point! Many people criticized Lauren Daigle for being on the Ellen show. But I felt it was a good thing for her to do, for similar reasons to what you said.

Yes I love all the things you said you were thankful for. They are all blessings. Moving into a new place really puts things in perspective and helps you to not take for granted the simple things in life. And spending time with family (especially right now), decorating and celebrating – they all are things we now cherish all the more with the events of 2020. Thanks for sharing!
